Money Tracker
See where your family’s and your business’s money goes.
What is Money Tracker?
Money Tracker brings your bank accounts, cards, loans, and other assets together in one place. It shows what you are worth, where your money goes each month, which subscriptions you are paying for, and how your business is doing, and it emails you when something needs your attention.
Connect your banks
Link your bank, card, and loan accounts securely through Plaid, which brings in your balances and up to two years of transactions. Money Tracker keeps them up to date automatically. If a bank connection stops working, a Reconnect button fixes it.
Net worth
- Every asset and liability in one list, grouped by type, with totals
- Add things a bank doesn’t track, such as your home, a car, or a private loan
- See the change over the last 30 days and the last year, with a history chart
- Click any item for its balance history and recent transactions
Spending and budgets
- Spending and income by category for any period, with a 12-month trend
- View personal money, business money, or both
- Set a budget for each category
- Click a category to see its transactions
Transactions are categorized automatically, with AI handling merchants it hasn’t seen before. When you re-categorize a transaction, you can apply the change to every transaction from that merchant.
Subscriptions
Money Tracker finds your subscriptions from recurring charges and totals what you spend on them each month and year, by type: streaming TV, web apps, AI services, and more.
- Spot price increases
- Rate how much you actually use each one
- Track the ones you plan to cancel or have cancelled
- Get an AI savings review that looks for overlapping services, ones that aren’t worth it, and cheaper plans
Business money
Create a business workspace, or mark single transactions or whole accounts as business, and get:
- Schedule C expense categories
- Income, expenses, and profit by year
- An estimate of how much to set aside for taxes, and estimated-tax due dates
- A CSV export for your accountant
Email alerts
Workspace owners get an email when something needs attention:
- A low balance or a large transaction
- A category going over budget
- An upcoming estimated tax payment, for the IRS, California, or your own dates
- A new subscription, a price change, a charge after you cancelled, or an annual renewal coming up
- A bank connection that needs to be reconnected
Each alert is sent once, and everything found in one update comes in a single email.
Share it with your family
Create a workspace for your family’s money and another for each business, and switch between them from the header menu. Invite your partner, family members, or your bookkeeper by their Google email as an owner, editor, or viewer, and the workspace appears the first time they sign in.
Get started
Open Money Tracker and sign in with your Google account. Create a workspace, connect your first bank, and add anything a bank doesn’t track, like your home or car.
